Welcome to Loma Vista Middle School

Home of the Lions!

Dear Loma Vista Students, Families, Staff, and Community,

Welcome to Loma Vista Middle School! It is an incredible honor to serve as your Principal and to join a school community with a proud history, dedicated educators, supportive families, and amazing students.

As I begin my first year at Loma Vista, my priority is to listen, learn, build relationships, and work alongside our students, staff, and families to continue moving our school forward. I believe the strongest schools are built through partnership, shared responsibility, and a relentless belief in what students can accomplish.

My leadership philosophy can be captured in four words:

Student Centered. Staff Focused.

Every decision we make should ultimately create better opportunities and outcomes for students. To accomplish that, we must also invest in, support, and empower the educators and staff members who serve them every day. When great people are supported to do great work, students benefit.

We ROAR!

At Loma Vista, our Lions ROAR:

R – Respect
O – Own Your Behavior
A – Act in Excellence
R – Ready to Learn

These expectations represent more than how we want students to behave. They reflect the kind of community we are committed to becoming. We want our students to demonstrate respect for themselves and others, take ownership of their choices, pursue excellence, and arrive each day ready to learn and grow. Just as importantly, the adults on our campus must model those same expectations.

A School Where Students Belong

I want every student who walks through the gates of Loma Vista to know: you belong here, you are capable, and your future matters.

Our responsibility extends beyond preparing students academically. Middle school is a critical time when young people begin discovering who they are, what they are passionate about, and what they believe they can become.

That is why we are committed to providing students with rigorous and engaging classroom instruction while also creating opportunities to participate, lead, compete, create, and connect through athletics, activities, clubs, leadership, and other experiences.

Excellence in Every Classroom

I believe deeply in the power of great teaching.

Our classrooms will be a place where students are challenged to think, communicate, collaborate, solve problems, and take ownership of their learning. We will use evidence of student learning to guide our decisions, collaborate around effective instructional practices, and continually ask ourselves an important question:

Partnership With Our Families

Families are not visitors to our school; they are our partners.

I want Loma Vista to be a school where families feel welcomed, informed, heard, and connected. I encourage you to attend our events, communicate with our teachers and staff, ask questions, celebrate our successes, and partner with us as we navigate challenges.

Our students are most successful when school and home are working together.

A Little About Me

My career in education has provided me with the opportunity to serve students and families in several different roles, including teaching, school counseling and school administration. I earned my Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) from the University of Southern California, my Master of Science from Azusa Pacific University, and my Bachelor of Arts from York College. I also hold a Pupil Personnel Services Credential.

Throughout each stage of my career, one belief has remained constant: schools can change the trajectory of a young person's life. That responsibility is something I take seriously, and it is one of the reasons I am so excited to serve the Loma Vista community.

The Work Ahead

I am excited about what we will accomplish together.

We will celebrate what Loma Vista already does well while having the courage to identify where we can become even better. We will set high expectations, strengthen teaching and learning, create meaningful experiences for students, support our staff, listen to student and family voices, and continue building a school community in which people are proud to belong.

Our vision reminds us of our shared responsibility:

Together, We Challenge, Inspire, & Educate.

And our Lions will continue to show the world what it means to ROAR!

Thank you for trusting us with the privilege of educating your children. I look forward to meeting you, hearing your ideas, and working alongside you to make Loma Vista an exceptional place for every student.
