Parent tips for School success:
 
Talk with your students daily about their school day

Review their planner and check for homework completion
 
Ask specific questions:  “How was lunch with Mary today?”  “Who did you have lunch with?”  “Tell me one thing you learned today in Math class, history class, etc..”
 
Review contents of backpack consistently and help your student stay organized.  Keep communication open with teachers, counselors, and especially your student.
